THE PROCESSING METHOD

AN ARTISAN VOCATION.
FOR A COMPANY THAT RESPECTS ITS HISTORY.

For I Provenzali sustainable cosmetics we are inspired by the principles of green chemistry: “green chemistry” is an ethical approach made up of criteria, priorities and objectives to guide the applications of chemistry towards environmentally and economically sustainable methods.

The following 12 principles have been identified:

  • Prevent the formation of waste;
  • Maximize the incorporation into the final product of all the materials used in the synthesis, thus reducing the amount of reaction by-products to be disposed of;
  • Design chemical syntheses that lead to the generation of substances with low or no toxicity for human health and the environment;
  • Design more effective and safer chemicals;
  • Reduce the use of solvents and auxiliary ingredients and, where essential, pay attention to their safety;
  • The energy requirement of a process must be studied according to its environmental and economic impact, which must be minimized as much as possible;
  • Use preferentially little transformed and renewable raw materials;
  • Reduce the number of reaction products;
  • Prefer, where possible, reagents with a catalytic action;
  • Design biodegradable chemicals;
  • Monitor synthesis processes in real time to avoid the formation of dangerous substances;
  • Promote safer chemistry that prevents and reduces accidents and injuries

VEGETABLE OILS

The vegetable oils used in our codes are obtained through cold extraction processes aimed at preserving their rich heritage in fatty acids and active substances, guaranteeing a high quality and highly functional product for the skin.

CHOICE OF RAW MATERIALS

I Provenzali Vegetable Oils represent a valid alternative to traditional creams and emulsions when an intense restorative contribution is desired in the name of naturalness with functional vegetable ingredients. The raw materials are carefully selected not only according to their quality, but also in terms of their environmental and social sustainability.

CRAFTSMANSHIP

I Provenzali Vegetable Oils are completely water-free, uncut or sophisticated, and enriched with Vitamin E (Tocopherol), to help maintain the organoleptic characteristics. For better preservation of the product, only pharmaceutical glass bottles are used. The production cycle is carried out entirely in Italy.

BAR SOAPS

The production of I Provenzali Solid Soaps has ancient and artisanal origins, derived from the method commonly known as “Marsiglia”.

CHOICE OF RAW MATERIALS

For the production of bar Soap, I Provenzali still uses a method that respects the original recipe of the ancient Saponificio Gianasso, starting from the processing of soap shavings from vegetable origin, with the addition of pure Vegetable Oils in a mixture, such as of almonds and olives and glycerin. Perfume, dyes and other oils and butters are added to these raw materials (which form the base of the soap) according to the specificity of the product.

For the creation of bar soaps, I Provenzali still follows the original recipe of the ancient Saponificio Gianasso where the soap shavings from vegetable origin are enhanced with the addition of a synergy based on almond oil, olive oil and lecithin. The mixture thus obtained (which constitutes the base of the soap) is then further functionalized with butters, oils, active ingredients and added with fragrance and any colorants based on the specificity of the product.

CRAFTSMANSHIP

After the mixing of the raw materials, there is the drawing phase in which the soap becomes compact, malleable and in the desired shape, ready to be cut into blocks of the right size, which are then rewrapped and boxed directly on the line.

TO BE A SUSTAINABLE COSMETIC EVEN IN SOAPS

For all I Provenzali bar soaps, we only use soap chips deriving from palm oil, certified according to the RSPO Mass Balance standard. RSPO is the English acronym for “Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil”, the aim of which is to promote the growth and use of economically, environmentally, socially and ethically sustainable palm oil products, through the adoption and verification of the application of a standard. In our opinion, in fact, this raw material deserves to be traced as a raw material with a potentially high risk of environmental impact supply chain. This is what we mean by a potentially high environmental impact supply chain: a raw material whose use in large quantities can have a highly negative impact on the environment.

LIPID FUSION

I Provenzali Butters and Vegetable Sticks are highly natural and emollient lipid fusions. They nourish the skin giving softness and a pleasant sensation of comfort.

CHOICE OF RAW MATERIALS

I Provenzali Vegetable Butters and Sticks are made with raw materials selected for their quality, efficacy and natural origin. Our attention is also maximum in terms of environmental and social sustainability.

CRAFTSMANSHIP

I Provenzali Butters and Vegetable Sticks are obtained by melting, mixing and cooling functional substances with a lipophilic nature such as waxes, butters, oils, rigorously natural and/or from natural origin. They are characterized by a rich and enveloping touch.
